Companies are micro-managing you by the use of the computer so whatever it is that you do or don’t do, it is continuously measured and when you fall short, which is frequently (workloads are not manageable), then your team leader or supervisor will make you aware of it verbally or in writing.





Listed below are some of the everyday tasks monitored by the computer technology causing workplace stress.

• Keeping up to date on your diary

• Time sensitive letters getting sent out on time

• Incoming reports

• Requesting reports

• Over documenting your notes because you have to continuously carry forward a short summary to make it easy for the auditors or the management team to be able to look at the last entries instead of they themselves walking through the file notes to make an assessment of how you handled the file. (My experience with notes because I have always been thorough, is that supervisors and auditors don’t read them anyway).

• The reports generated from the computer also make it easy for management to make you look bad if they are trying to get rid of you. I’ve seen it happen to many great adjusters and it’s not because they weren’t doing their jobs it was because of personality conflicts.

Fax machines are also technology causing workplace stress.
Fax machines make expectations of wants and needs of others to expect an immediate response.

Computer technology causes workplace stress because it brings on anxiety, can make you feel as though you are transparent, vulnerable and brings on low self-esteem because you feel you are not in control of anything you do during your day which has turned into chronic daily workplace stress.
