SYMPTOMS OF WORKPLACE STRESS FOR A CLAIM ADJUSTER
Many of my friends that are claim adjusters go through a similiar process every Sunday afternoon and evening.
As claim adjuster, I found that at 4:00 every Sunday afternoon I started to get anxious and irritable and I tossed and turned while sleeping. I knew it was because of my anticipation of going to work on Monday.
When faced with chronic stress, a person will begin to see the effects of stress and physical symptoms of stress. The first stress symptoms are relatively mild, like chronic headaches and increased susceptibility to colds and other symptoms and early warning signs are:
• Hopelessness
• Depression
• Frustration
• Poor Concentration
• Anxiety
• Negativism/cynicism
• Alienation
• Emotionally eating
• Crying for no reason
• Short tempered
• Overwhelmed
• Low self-esteem
• Fear
• Sleep Disturbance
• Hair loss
• Absenteeism
• Upset stomach
If you catch symptoms early, you have a better chance of fixing the problem so you don't end up with more chronic and serious problems.
If left untreated chronic long term effects of workplace stress can lead to:
